For those involved in the commercial tire business and those involved in retreading, for the third year, TIA is co-locating the Commercial Tire, Retread & Recycling Conference two-day educational program with the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting and Trade Show. This is North America’s largest gathering of fleet maintenance professionals and this combination of organizations provides an opportunity for you to meet and interact with buyers in the trucking industry as well as with professionals from the commercial tire, retreading, and tire and rubber recycling industries. Expect to hear about issues such as crumb rubber as a revenue stream, minimizing liability, reducing workers’ comp, and more.
TIA PAVILION – NEW THIS YEAR! For the first time, at this year’s TMC Show (which will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando), TIA will sponsor the TIA Pavilion. TIA RETREAD APPEARANCE CONTEST! The 2009 TIA Retread Appearance Contest (RAC) will be held at the TIA Pavilion at the TMC Show. For this year, entrants can compete in two categories: Mold Cure Truck and Pre-Cure Truck. Retreads will be restricted to rim diameters of 17.5 inches to 24.5 inches with cross-sections 315 millimeters or less. However, if a retreader would like to submit a tire over 315 millimeter cross-section, they must provide their own safe display stand with their entry. Only one entry per category will be accepted for each retread plant. Additionally, only those retreads that meet all of the criteria will be eligible for the Best of Show award and guaranteed a spot on display at the CTRRC. For recyclers, the two-day program is an opportunity to stay on top of the latest trends in the ever-changing world of recycling. The program’s sessions include Government and Industry Working Together: An Interactive Gathering, which will be a two-part program that will include a state scrap tire program managers meeting and an open session on state tire programs and their benefits to processors and end users.
