Todd Hart, Director of Sales, B & J Manufacturing
Thad Perdue, Vice President of Sales & Marketing,
Robbins LLC
Eddie Burleson, General Manager, Central Marketing

Pre-cure retreaders cannot eliminate envelope costs, but they can take steps to extend the life and performance of inside and outside envelopes. This panel of envelope manufactures will examine a number of different methods for improving the number of cures. With new technological advances in rasps and the increased demand for rubber buffings, retreaders are faced with an interesting decision. Is the goal to buff the tires as cheaply and effectively as possible or should the emphasis be on creating a good buffed texture with a more usable, and therefore more valuable, byproduct. This seminar will take a look a both approaches so retreaders can determine for themselves with approach is best.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
TIA Networking Luncheon
The final networking opportunity includes a delicious lunch across the hall from the seminars with deli sandwiches, soup, salad and the always popular dessert station.

1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Tire Manufacturers Forum
Speakers:
Guy Walenga, Director, Engineering, Commercial Products and Technologies, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC
Tim Miller, Marketing Communications Manager – Commercial Tires, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Company
Lyle Haylett, Market Research & Government Relations Manager, Bandag, Inc.
Doug Jones, Customer Engineering Support Manager for North America, Michelin North America, Inc.

The tire manufacturers previously participated in a well-received TIA sponsored forum where dealers and retreaders discussed industry issues that affected the independent businesses who service and sell their products. With the sale of two major retread rubber manufacturers in the last year, the landscape of the commercial tire truck industry has drastically changed and now is the ideal time to bring back this popular forum. This is your chance to ask questions regarding how the consolidation is going to change the way the
industry provides truck tires and retreads to the fleets. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this rare one-on-one meeting with leaders in the industry.

3:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Earthmover Tire Repair
Moderator: Marvin Bozarth, TIA Senior Technical Consultant
Speakers:
Joe Casebere, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Rema Tip Top N.A., Inc.
Jeff Young, Director of Sales, Tire Repair & Retreading Products, Patch Rubber Company
Brian Laughlin, Technical Training Manager, Tech International

With no immediate solution to the earthmover tire shortage on the horizon, many retreaders have renewed interest in repairing giant tires. Since the shortage is so severe, repair technicians are pushing the limits with regards to the number of the repairs, the type of repairs, and the size of the injury that can be repaired. This seminar will focus on those subjects so attendees have a better understanding of what can and cannot be done.

4:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Central Tire Inflation Systems/Identification and Service

Moderator: Kevin Rohlwing, TIA Senior Vice President of Training
Speaker: Al Cohn, Director, New Market Development & Engineering Support, Pressure Systems International, Inc.
Almost half of the new trailers in 2007 will have the PSI central tire inflation system (CTIS) installed at the original equipment level. There are some specific maintenance and service procedures that must be followed when servicing the tire and wheel assemblies on these vehicles and this seminar will address those and other issues regarding CTIS.
