He then laid out the course in a manner where water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, which makes for a challenging, but picturesque Great White Golf Course. Host to the PGA Tour Franklin Templeton Shark Shootout in 2000, the Great White was rated as the best new golf course of 2000 by the National Golf Foundation. | | | | | | 2010 Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA
| | | Monday, Nov. 1 – Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 Las Vegas, Nevada It's a new day in the tire industry.
You told us you wanted an event that would be all about the tire industry. You told us that this event should include every sector of the tire industry. You told us you wanted a voice in what happens at the SEMA Show. You have spoken, and we listened. You recommended, and we responded. SEMA and TIA are working closer than ever to bring you the kind of tire event you want in a city like no other. The result is the new Global Tire Expo — Powered by TIA.
All About the Tire Industry
It's a tire industry-focused part of the SEMA Show that is open to all sectors of the tire industry - from automotive, to commercial, to retreading, to recycling, and more. It will be set apart from the rest of the happenings with its own branding, entrance units, and color scheme. Tire manufacturers’ booths will receive a greater level of prominence, and we're working with them on a one-on-one basis to assist them with every aspect of exhibiting at the show. Expanded Educational Sessions
TIA is the world leader in tire service training. So, we've created an expanded educational session track: TPMS at 10, Tires at 2, and Management at 4. Each day, you will be able to attend sessions that don't just cover the same, old topics you've heard dozens of times before, given by people who either don't really know the subject or who are out of touch. These are sessions you'll want to attend, given by the top experts in the world.
You're Not Just an Exhibitor . . . You're a Partner
When you make the decision to exhibit at the Global Tire Expo, you'll know that you are more than just an exhibitor . . . you're a partner. That's because SEMA has agreed to place a TIA representative on the SEMA Show Committee. We have also been invited to join SEMA’s Tire & Wheel Council. Thus, you can rest assured that your feedback will receive the attention it deserves, and it will help us make the Expo THE tire industry event of the year.
A Cost-Effective Way to Reach Your Customers
SEMA will work with you to find new, innovative ways you can reduce the cost of exhibiting at the Global Tire Expo. All Expo exhibitors are eligible to receive a one-on-one audit of their show plans, which could help you save up to 20% on the total cost of exhibition.
According to SEMA's research, tires are in the top three product interests for attendees. The SEMA Show is also a huge draw for buyers from around the world. These are customers you can't afford to miss. You also have an unbelievably wide selection of hotel accommodations – everything from properties that keep it simple and cost-effective and start at $39 a night to five-star establishments that are on par with some of the best properties in the world.
Look into exhibiting at the Global Tire Expo. See how we can work with you to make exhibiting a cost-effective — and successful — endeavor.

| | TIRES, WHEELS & EQUIPMENT - SPONSORED BY TIA
| | |
Monday, Nov. 2 – Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 Las Vegas, Nevada TIA’s TWE Section at SEMA: Still THE Place to do Business! It’s the smart - and successful - businessperson who takes advantage of a down economy to make plans for the inevitable upswing.
With this in mind, the time is fast approaching for TIA’s upcoming Tires, Wheels & Equipment Section of the 2009 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA)’s Show, and the TIA special events, which will be held November 2-6 in Las Vegas. While, in years past, there may have been an impression that this was solely a time to "play," if last year’s Show attendance was any indication, you can be assured that this year’s Show will continue the trend of being more about getting business done.
And, we have a renewed emphasis on making our TWE events into prime opportunities for you to get together with the people you need to know. These events include:
- Wine & Cheese Social (Monday, November 2, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Caesars Palace): We have eliminated the Breakfast with the President, and replaced it with this newly created event (and Tire Industry Honors - info to follow). Network with other tire industry notables while you enjoy fine wines and sumptuous cheeses from around the world. Open to all Show attendees at no charge.
- Welcome Reception (Monday, November 2, 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Rao’s, Caesars Palace): This is the tire industry networking event of the week! Make those important business contacts, exchange ideas, and catch up with friends and colleagues as you enjoy some of the finest Italian food, drinks, and entertainment on the strip! The greatness of Rao’s food stems from the quality of the products. Their kitchen uses fresh, high-quality ingredients, such as homemade roasted red peppers, freshly grated Pecorino-Romano and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses, Felipo Berio olive oil, and certified San Marzano plum tomatoes from Italy. For more than 110 years, that’s the way the family has cooked in New York, and that’s they way they do it in Las Vegas. Tickets: $50/person; to order, register online, or call 800.876.8372, ext. 104.
- International Roundtable - Best Practices in the Tire Industry & International Review of Industry Regulations (Wednesday, November 4, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall): This is the first year for this exciting, new event. Tire industry attendees from around the world are invited to attend and participate by sharing their best practices on any or all of the following categories: Tire Service, Retreading & Repairing and Commercial Tire Service. This event will be hosted by the Tire Industry Association and will feature Harvey Brodsky, Managing Director of the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB), as the moderator. It promises to be an informal, fun-filled two hours, with a lively exchange of good ideas! Now is the time to begin gathering your best practices to share with your peers in Las Vegas. Open to all Show attendees at no charge; however, an RSVP is required.
Tire Industry Honors
In addition, as part of our elimination of the Breakfast with the President, we have created Tire Industry Honors – a new event at Caesars Palace on Monday, November 2 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. that will directly follow our Wine & Cheese Social. It has been created to honor the legends – both current and past – of the tire industry, and we expect it to quickly become the place that the entire tire industry comes together to honor those who have made this industry great. We will recognize the Tire Industry Hall of Fame inductees, and the torch of the TIA presidency will be officially passed from current TIA President Dan Beach to the incoming President, Wayne Croswell.
And, we are excited to announce that all three major tire trade publications – Modern Tire Dealer, Tire Business, and Tire Review – will be involved in this terrific event! Tire Review will be presenting their "Top Shop" award, Tire Business will be presenting their "Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award," and Modern Tire Dealer will be honoring the outgoing TIA President. Open to all Show attendees at no charge -- RSVP required; register online, or call 800.876.8372, ext. 104.

Commercial Tire, Retread & Recycling Conference (CTRRC) February 5-7, 2008 Rosen Centre Hotel Orlando, Florida
Post Conference Summary We were very pleased to see so many TIA members in Orlando for the Commercial Tire, Retread & Recycling Conference that was held in conjunction with the TMC show. We had a total of 404 attendees, including 294 attendees from the commercial and retread markets and 110 recyclers. The sessions were well attended and key industry leaders gave valuable updates and industry insights to attendees. The Tire Manufacturers Forum was a big success with the panel answering questions for the full 90 minutes that was scheduled.
More than 75 tire and rubber recyclers and industry professionals took part in the tire recycling facility tour which took place at the Ridge Generating Station in Auburndale, Florida. Recyclers had the opportunity to view full scale tire processing and energy production operations during the tour. The 45 megawatt plant processes up to 300,000 tons per year of waste wood and approximately 30,000 tons of tires per year into clean energy.
One of the highlights of the tire recycling program was the Thursday afternoon playground and sports surfaces product testing demonstration. Coordinated by TRRAC member Denise Kennedy, the program included testing of loose fill, pour-in-place and artificial sport turf surfacing. Attendees viewed a demonstration on how to use the TRIAX 2000 and "A" missile testing equipment in the field prior to sending the material to a testing lab for official certification. The TRIAX 2000 is used to test for impact attenuation of recycled rubber surfaces and the "A" missile is an artificial turf impact tester which can be used to test football, soccer, and baseball, and multi-purpose fields.
Overall, the CTRRC was a very successful event that provided an important venue for the retread, commercial tire, and recycling industries.

Commercial Tire, Recycling and Retread Conference - Wrap-up
The first CTRRC Conference was held in Tampa, Florida, February 6-8, 2007 in conjunction with the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Association (ATA). There were 240 registered attendees, including 145 from the commercial/retread market and 95 recyclers who attended the three-day conference and participated in the workshops and recycling tour. Topics ranged from risk management to retreading the new ultra low-profile wide-base tires, and the response from attendees was extremely positive.
2007 OTR Conference Wrap-Up TIA enjoyed record-setting attendance at the 51st OTR Conference in San Diego, California, February 22-24, 2007. Approximately 450 people were in attendance, including nearly 100 attendees from outside of North America. Many of the presentations were focused on the tremendous shortage of OTR tires and how dealers and retreaders can adapt to the many changes in the industry. The annual highlight of the OTR Conference is the forecast for original equipment and replacement tires, and attendees were informed that the back-order situation for many large OTR sizes is expected to continue for at least the next 2-3 years. The golf tournament is another aspect of the event that many attendees anticipate, and this year it was sold out so another course was added to accommodate the demand. There is already tremendous anticipation for next year's conference in Hawaii, be sure to register early! Thank you to our 2007 Sponsors! Airboss Rubber Compounding American Crane Inc.
