HOT NEWS:

TIA ANNOUNCED THAT THE “INTERNATIONAL TIRE EXPO” (ITE) WILL BE RENAMED “PERFORMANCE TIRES & WHEELS SPONSORED BY TIA” AS A PART OF THE SEMA SHOW

By combining the ITE with performance tires & wheels, TIA can now offer our exhibitors booth locations towards the front of the hall, along with a consistent flow of traffic. TIA members were torn between exhibiting in ITE or the performance wheel and tire section. TIA has removed that conflict and made the choice easy for exhibitors and for attendees. TIA views this change as a major victory for both the organization and the membership. The whole front hall of the SEMA Show will look like a tire show with TIA’s name proudly displayed everywhere. The SEMA Show with “Performance Tires & Wheels sponsored by TIA” will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 2-5, 2004.

International Tire Expo 2003
The 2003 International Tire Expo (ITE) trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada took place November 4 - 7, 2003.

The 2003 International Tire Expo was held in conjunction with the annual trade show of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). The combined exposition is the 20th largest association trade show in the world. The International Tire Expo/SEMA Show again estimates it will have over 1,100 exhibitors.

Registration for the International Tire Expo/SEMA Show was only $10. Attendees not only had access to the TIA show, but to every other aftermarket exhibit on display in Las Vegas.

The tire industry’s headquarters hotel was the Aladdin Resort and Casino, located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.

International Tire Expo 2002
On December 3, 2002 the Tire Industry Association announced that 5,504 tire industry buyers attended the International Tire Expo / SEMA Show, setting a new attendance record for the Las Vegas-based event. The previous record for tire industry buyer attendance was in 1999, when 5,099 tire industry ‘buyers" attended.

"The association is thrilled," says TIA President Tom Raben. "This was the first event for the newly-merged TIA, and it was a great success."

Raben adds that TIA attendance totals are reported by an independent third-party. Only registered "buyers" – individuals with buying authority that confirm their attendance during the four-day show – are counted in TIA’s final attendance figures.

Raben also stated that showgoers were pleased with the International Tire Expo show floor, which is now in the new South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The new location provides a single venue for tire industry exhibits.

Specifically, 4,033 tire and wheel dealers and 1,207 tire and wheel wholesale distribution professionals (5,504 tire industry professionals) were verified as attendees of the 2002 show. Over 130 tire industry companies exhibited in TIA’s International Tire Expo. Exhibitors and non-buyers are not included in this attendance total.
