TIA Member Wins GE World Series Sweepstakes

Bowie, MD – (October 7, 2005) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has learned from GE Consumer Finance that Harold McKinney, of MTW McKinney Warehouse (TIA member), and a guest are making plans for the 2006 World Series as the winners of the CarCareONE World Series Sweepstakes.  Mr. McKinney will receive airfare, accommodations for two nights and two tickets to the first game at next year’s World Series.

The World Series Sweepstakes was part of the Top Gun dealer incentive program available to all CarCareONE merchants who averaged at least $3,000/month in CarCareONE credit card sales.  The Top Gun program is a year-long program that awards points for CarCareONE applications during each month.  These points can be redeemed for merchandise from an online catalog.

The World Series Sweepstakes was a special Top Gun promotion in August in which Top Gun participants earned an automatic entry into the sweepstakes for every five applications they submitted during the month.

MTW McKinney Warehouse, Ashland, KY, has been a CarCareONE dealer since August 1986 and a TIA member since 1983.

An enthusiastic McKinney states, “It’s a fantastic experience to be receiving tickets to the World Series, and for an opportunity that I otherwise wouldn’t have had in my lifetime!  I use the CarCareONE program over other programs because I can have the customer approved and taken care of in three minutes.  It’s just good business for an independent dealer to stay independent and the card creates a very large return business.  It also is a very good marketing program to help make the independent dealer excited about acquiring CarCareONE customers.  It also increases the volume of sales when you can offer the customer 90-day, 6-month and 12 month promotions that credit cards can’t offer.”

The CarCareONE financing program enables automotive aftermarket retailers to offer extended financing from 90days to 12 months to their consumer customers.  The program, offered by GE Money, is available to all TIA members.  The program has been serving the needs of members for over 20 years for more information, call GE at 1-800-244-7354.  For information on becoming a TIA member and taking advantage of the CarCareONE program, call Wilson Beach, TIA Director of Sales at 1-800-876-8372 ext. 103.

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA).  ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
