TIA Announces New Health Benefit Programs

Bowie, MD – (October 26, 2005) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has announced they will offer health benefit programs to their members.  With the nation facing rising and unpredictable health plan expense, TIA is supporting a large scale introduction of “TIA-Care”, its newest effort to bring high quality affordable medical care for TIA members. TIA Care will include a partially self-funded major medical plan for members with more than 15 employees and a mini-medical plan for all members.  The mini-medical plan is a traditional insurance program that provides benefits for basic health services only.

TIA-Care uniquely provides integration of medical care management and claims processing. These plans are designed to encourage plan members to improve their health by taking care of their needs whether well or suffering from chronic or acute medical conditions. In all instances the strategy for TIA is to lower health expense by improving medical health status.

“We’re very excited about this new health benefit program,” said TIA Executive Vice President, Roy Littlefield.  “Triveris has successfully taken a different approach to health plan management and we believe this new approach is the only way to realistically lower health plan costs for our members.”

Triveris, the administrator for these unique plans is a New Jersey based company with a highly successful track record of lowering and stabilizing health benefit expense by improving the quality of care plan members receive. Triveris administers health plans throughout the United States and in Central America.  Triveris’ success is attributed to good common sense information provided to plan members by compassionate nurses, doctors, and member service coordinators. Triveris is paid on a fee basis for claims and medical advocacy and is not conflicted like an insurer who gets paid from money not spent for medical care.

Representatives from Triveris will be available to explain TIA-Care to members at the Performance Tires & Wheels/SEMA Show  in Las Vegas at TIA’s Booth #41115, on Tuesday, November 1 through Friday, November 4, 2005.   Members wishing to schedule appointment times during the show can contact Triveris now at 732-676-2637 ext. 226.

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA).  ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
