TIA Announces New Director of Government and Business Relations

Bowie, MD – (December 5, 2005) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) today announced Paul Fiore, TIA’s current director of business development will take on a new position as director of government and business relations. Mr. Fiore will replace the vacancy left by Becky MacDicken and retain his supervisory responsibility for TIA’s membership programs and services.

Mr. Fiore has been in the automotive market for over 25 years in various capacities. Besides owning a repair facility for a majority of his career, he has also served on numerous industry councils and committees. He served as president of a regional trade association where he was also chairman of the legislative committee, and has been active in government relations at the state and federal levels.

“We felt Paul’s multi-faceted experience in association management and government relations would be an excellent opportunity for the Association to create this new position,” said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. “Paul has done an excellent job with bringing new programs and services to our members since joining TIA in 2003. We’re confident that in his new position, our members will continue to benefit from his expertise.”

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA).  ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
