TIA Plans 2007 Commercial Tire & Retreading Conference

BOWIE, Maryland – May 3, 2006, The Tire Industry Association (TIA) today announced plans to hold a TIA Commercial Tire and Retreading Conference, February 6-8, 2007 at the Tampa Convention Center.  The conference will be held in conjunction with the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) Transportation Technology Exhibition.  By holding these two events at the Tampa Convention Center, exhibitors will have the opportunity for the first time to meet not only buyers in the trucking industry, but also decision makers in the commercial and retreading markets. Conference registrants will have the opportunity to attend the TMC exhibition, various TIA seminars, workshops, and panel discussions with industry experts during the conference.

“With the final World Tire Expo (WTE) taking place in 2005, we are very excited about the new tradition we will be starting in 2007 with TIA’s Commercial Tire and Retreading Conference,” said TIA President Bob Malerba. “We are committed to providing the commercial and retread industries with an event to educate personnel, exchange ideas, and meet with suppliers and manufacturers. By holding our conference in conjunction with TMC’s Exhibition, both groups will benefit.”

Information on the TIA conference schedule, registration, and hotel reservations will be available on TIA’s website, www.tireindustry.org in the near future. To obtain information on exhibiting at the TMC Transportation Technology Exhibition please visit www.truckline.com.

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA).  ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
