CarCareONE Promotion Puts Money Back into Customers’ Wallets

Bowie, MD – (May 9, 2007)  The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced today that its CarCareONE program, a division of GE Money, is running a promotion that will enable retail dealers to offer cash rebates to customers, in amounts of $25-$50 on automotive purchases and repair. This promotion will be available through June 4, 2007. CarCareONE, one of GE Money’s best recognized proprietary credit cards, encompasses the retail tire and automotive aftermarket segments of the industry.

“TIA is excited to take part in this terrific promotion,” remarked TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.  “This is just what our members need to remain competitive in the marketplace.”

The CarCareONE card is nationally accepted by participating merchants and can also be used at Exxon Mobil gasoline locations.  Any customers charging $250 or more to their CarCareONE Card will be eligible for a $25 mail-in-rebate from GE Money, while customers charging $500 or more will be eligible for a $50 mail-in-rebate.

There are very few risks or hassles to the merchant who has CarCareONE credit card acceptance and benefits include competitive processing rates, as well as free point of sale materials, equipment, and customer lists.  Merchants can offer customers extended financing of 90 days to 12 months and qualify them for an entirely separate line of credit outside of the realms of the traditional Visa and/or MasterCard. New customers will also receive free road-side-assistance for up to one year.

This promotion is available to all merchants accepting the CarCareONE Credit Card.  Current merchants can order complimentary promotional materials by emailing gerebatekit@westcamp.com.  If you are not currently a CarCareONE merchant but are interested in becoming part of the program, contact TIA Director of Membership Megan Walsh at 800-876-8372 ext. 112 or by email at mwalsh@tireindustry.org for more information.

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA).  ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
