TIA Preferred Approved Vendor, Newton & Associates, Changes Name

Bowie, MD – (July 11, 2007) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) today announced that one of its preferred vendors, Newton & Associates, an accounts receivable management and commercial debt collection company, will now operate as Coface Collections North America, Inc. Newton & Associates operated as the US division of Coface Collections North America, Inc. and the company has now integrated its US operations into its global Coface group of companies.

Coface North America provides services to help companies manage, protect and finance their accounts receivable. Coface operates in 60 countries and maintains partnerships that extend its reach to 93 countries. As a company within the global network, Coface Collections North America, Inc. has the largest international presence of any commercial collection company in the U.S.

“TIA members will benefit from this change by having the same local contact they always had, in addition to world-wide operation services through Coface collections team operations,” commented TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. “Coface’s ability to collect in the local language and under local law around the world is a great advantage for our members. Everyone will need to become familiar with a new name, but the same quality level of service our members received from Newton & Associates will remain the same.”

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA). ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
