TIA ANNOUNCES BOARD OF DIRECTORS
ELECTION RESULTS

Bowie, MD – (September 18, 2007) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) today announced the winners of the recent Board of Directors elections. Thirteen seats were open including ten seats with three-year terms, one seat with a two-year term and two seats with a one-year term. Elected to serve three-year terms were:

Gary Albright, Becker Tire & Treading, Inc., Great Bend, KS

Michael Baggett, Yokohama Tire OTR Division, Santa Rosa, FL

Mike Berra, Community Tire Retreading, Maryland Heights, MO

Larry Brandt, MSB Tires, LLC, Port St. Lucie, FL

Randall Groh, U.S. Oil Co., Inc., Combined Locks, WI

Bob Katz, Nu-Tread Tire & Auto Service Center, East Boston, MA

James Raben, Raben Tire Company, Inc., Evansville, IN

Warren Secord, Warren Secord Tire Factory, Kent, WA

Doug Swanson, Modern Auto Care, Inc. Eden Prairie, MN

Stu Zurcher, Transwheel Corporation, Huntington, IN

Additional members to the Board include, Mike Wolfe of Southeastern Wholesale Tire Co., Raleigh, NC, who was placed into the two-year vacancy that was created by the resignation of Steve Craven of Craven Tire & Auto in Fairfax, VA. Robert Ross of Hercules Tire Company of Canada, Ontario, Canada, was placed into the one-year vacancy that was created by the resignation of Barbara Briggs of Briggs & Sons Tire, Fayetteville, NC. Both Craven and Briggs sold their tire businesses in 2007 and will complete their service this year until the TIA Board meets in Las Vegas. Jim Short, Radial Tire and Bandag, Jasper, AL, was placed into the one-year vacancy that was created by Wayne Croswell’s election to the position of Secretary.

The new Board will take office on Monday, October 29, 2007 at TIA’s Annual Meeting at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA).  ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
