www.google.com
We are sure most everyone has heard of Google by now, as they
are the top search engine on the Internet. In fact it has become
such a part of our culture that it has become a verb; I
cant find that address, lets Google
it! What many people might not know is that those wacky
engineers at Google not only work hard at making a top search
engine, they also have a lot of fun! It might seem like a contradiction
but check this out:
www.google.com/intl/xx-elmer/
This is a full version of Google but with an Elmer Fudd accent;
or as they say Ewmew Fudd. You can Seawch
de web wiff gweat Wesuwts!
In a similar spirit, there are other sites that use Google
for fun but are not affiliated with Google.
www.googlefight.com
This site lets two different words, names or phrases duke
it out. It compares search results and the winner is the
one with the highest number. Classic fights include Bush
vs Bin Laden, MacDonalds vs Burger King and pen vs sword.
www.alltooflat.com/geeky/elgoog
This is called a mirror site, literally! Making a jest on
computer terminology, this site is a mirror image of Google
and everything is backwards including search results. (TIP:
To search you have to spell backwards!)

www.truckingjobinfo.com
It is not unheard of for a great truck driver to be unable
to find a job. Finding jobs is hard enough in todays market
but your next job might be just a few clicks away. There are
web sites specifically devoted to information on trucking jobs.
Whether you want to hire a trucker, or you are a trucker and
you need a job, these sites are the places to go. This particular
site features various articles and links, and will allow drivers
to post their resume for free. Companies can then search the
database for that perfect driver for the next job.
www.tireindustry.org/government/state_laws.asp
With each Cybernotes, TTI continues to explore TIAs
vast website. A new part of the Government section
is the State Law & Statute Resource Guide. It is a reference
to help find state laws related to the tire industry. Each state
maintains an online copy of their laws and statutes and TIAs
Resource page gets you there. Additional links on this page
include other helpful legal references.
Cybernotes wants to know your favorite sites!
Do you know of a website that everyone else needs to know
about? Now is your chance
please send us links to your
favorite sites about the industry, travel or anything with
tires and TTI will publish one each issue. Send to webmaster@tireindustry.org
and put Cybernotes as the subject.
