CTS INSTRUCTORS ONLY
(SHHH… IT’S A TOP SECRET!)
If you are a CTS Instructor, you probably already know about the special webpage dedicated to you. If you are not an instructor or are
planning on becoming one soon, there is a special webpage ONLY for CTS Instructors; in fact it is not even connected to TIA’s public website! On this page an instructor can find many important and useful items. It includes FAQs, Tips, Pre Tests, a Testing Check-Off Sheet and CTS Manual and Proctor forms. Recently we’ve added an online archive of TIA’s new magazine for instructors, Certified Instructor Today – only available on the CTS Instructors Page. I would give you the web address to check out, but you have to be a CTS Instructor first!
NATIONAL TIRE SAFETY WEEK

From April 20 to April 26 is
National Tire Safety Week. This annual event is sponsored by RMA and involves many industry members. Be sure to check out RMA and TIA’s website for information about this week-long, nationwide event. |
www.safercar.gov
From February 5-7, In July of 2004, I wrote in Cybernotes about this government website dedicated to consumer motor vehicle safety. Since then, the site has been overhauled, sporting a new cleaner look and much more information. I found a tremendous amount of safe driving information with explanations of many of today’s new and advanced systems including TPMS. There is even a whole section dedicated to tire safety and tire ratings. In addition, you’ll find clear information on auto recalls and defects as well as detailed listings of car safety ratings. I would recommend this site to give to retail customers for information about car and tire safety. If you haven’t been to www.safercar.gov in a while, it is worth another visit.
TIRE PLAYGROUNDS
Recently I did a search on Google for TIRE PLAYGROUNDS and was surprised at the number of dedicated businesses, articles and do-it-yourself websites out there in cyberspace. Of course I shouldn’t have been surprised! From mulchers to state government scrap tire programs, there is a growing interest in reducing scrap tire piles and not only recycling them but turning them into something useful and meaningful.
