The Tire Industry Association (TIA), one of the leading authorities on tires and tire training, has teamed up with Bridgestone Americas business units Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) and Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC. (BSRO) to help consumers answer these and many other tire-related questions in a brief seven-minute video. More than 20,000 technicians currently have the advantage of the most comprehensive training and certification program in the industry. TIA's CTS Technician Program represents the first step in changing the image of the truck tire and wheel service industry. Companies that choose to invest in education send an important message to their customers and their employees by making safety a top priority. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulation 29 CFR 1910.177, requires any employee that handles truck tires and wheels must receive safety training and demonstrate their ability to perform the necessary tasks. By focusing on OSHA Regulations, manufacturer guidelines and industry recommended practices, TIA can deliver accurate technical information to the field, where it's needed most.

Basic Commercial Tire Service (CTS-200)
TIA's Basic Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Training and Certificate Program is designed to meet the minimum federal training requirements for both new hires and experienced employees in need of documented training.
The Basic CTS Program is centered on 12 Modules. They include the step-by-step procedures and safety guidelines for demounting, mounting and inflating both single- and multi-piece tire and rim assemblies. TIA produced the videos in cooperation with the tool manufacturers, so students receive the most technically accurate and up-to-date practices using tools and equipment commonly found in the field. The program also focuses specifically on inspection procedures for identifying potential zipper ruptures in steel cord radial medium and light truck tires, and disc wheel and demountable rim service, maintenance and inspection procedures, respectively.
In addition to the DV, TIA's Basic CTS Program includes an Instructor's Guide with complete lesson plans and answers to the pretests. The Instructor's Guide corresponds directly with the Student Workbook (CTSSB-200, sold separately) and the DVD so it remains an important reference following the training. • Order Basic CTS-200 (click here)!
