  • Release Date: March 18, 2024

As the demand for agricultural products continues to rise, there is a corresponding need for skilled technicians capable of servicing tires efficiently in different farm and agricultural applications. TIA's Advanced FTS Training program aims to address this need by providing technicians with practical hands-on instruction and classroom knowledge essential for navigating the evolving landscape of the farm tire industry.

The curriculum will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Service Truck Operation: Hands-on training for operating service trucks equipped with essential tools in farm tire service operations, vital for addressing the demands of the growing farm market.
  • Site Preparation & Equipment Lifting: Techniques for site preparation and safe lifting practices to facilitate tire servicing in various agricultural settings.
  • Hydraulic Tool Operation & Maintenance: Practical instruction on the operation and maintenance of hydraulic tools commonly used in farm and agricultural tire service.
  • Demounting, Mounting, and Inflating Techniques: Comprehensive training on demounting, mounting, and inflating single-piece, dual, and three-piece tires, essential skills for servicing the diverse range of tires found in the agricultural sector.
  • Liquid Ballast Installation and Removal: Instruction on the proper installation and removal of liquid ballast in farm tires, crucial for optimizing tire performance in field operations.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have a partner in Stellar Industries to host this class,” says Kevin Rohlwing, TIA's Chief Technical Officer. “With the classroom space, service trucks and equipment on-site, we can deliver a hands-on experience that improves technician performance after the class. When you explain the risks in person and then show them how to service farm tires safely, it has a positive effect on safety.”

The Advanced FTS class welcomes all technicians in the farm and agricultural tire service industries seeking to work safer and stay ahead of the curve.
