Registration Opens for CTS Instructor Class in Baltimore
BOWIE, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has added three 400-Level Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Instructor classes this year, with the next one set for Aug. 17-20 in Baltimore.
“We are excited about returning to in-person training classes and the benefits of hands-on training and demonstrations,” said Kevin Rohlwing, senior vice president of training. “Nothing can replace the interaction between the instructor and students that takes place when everyone is in the same room. While the class size is limited, we are confident that we can safely provide the same level of training that the industry expects from TIA.”
The four-day class covers all aspects of medium/heavy truck tire service and also teaches students how to instruct a 300-Level Certified Technician Course in the field. It includes 18 modules ranging from Rims, Wheels and Hubs to OSHA Regulations.
An optional early session on the first day will be offered where students with fewer than two years of experience servicing trucks will physically mount and demount a tire, as well as install and remove a wheel assembly from the truck using impact and torque wrenches. There is no additional charge for this session.
Course tuition is $950. The tuition does not include the sleeping room rate.
Two additional 400-Level CTS Instructor classes have been scheduled for Oct. 12-15 in Louisville, Ky., and Dec. 7-10 in Tampa, Fla.
