  • Release Date: June 15, 2020

BOWIE, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and market research firm GfK US will offer a webinar about what comes next for the U.S. retail tire marketplace as the nation begins reopening from the coronavirus lockdowns.

“Beyond the Crisis: A Roundtable on COVID-19 and What's Next for Tire Retail,” will take place Monday, June 22, at 2 p.m. EDT. To register, go to https://insights.gfk.com/covid-19-gfk-tia-tires-webinar-2.

The webinar will include the latest data from GfK’s nationwide, point-of-sale (POS) retail panel of 3,500 tire retailers and its newly introduced leader panel that provides a weekly snapshot of the U.S. retail tire market. In addition, GfK will provide results from a survey of consumers and what they expect from retailers and brands.

Tire dealers Greg Mynaugh, president of United Tire and Service L.L.C., and Chris Wyborny, regional vice president of GB Auto Service Inc., also will participate and share their experiences and thoughts about the marketplace.

GfK participants include Neil Portnoy, managing director, POS tracking (tires U.S.), and Dave Stevens, vice president, POS tracking (tires U.S.). Dave Zielasko, TIA vice president of marketing and communications, will moderate the session.

This is the second webinar TIA has presented with GfK, following a well-received webinar entitled “What the Data Shows: How COVID-19 is Impacting the U.S. Retail Tire Industry” on May 6, 2020.

“TIA members had extremely positive feedback from the first webinar, and the association is excited to again join with GfK US to present another webinar that looks not only at the latest sell-out data and the results of GfK’s recent surveys of consumers revealing their expectations for retailers and brands, but also includes tire dealer participation,” said TIA CEO Roy Littlefield Jr.
