TIA Targets ETS Class at OTR Tire Professionals

BOWIE, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will hold its next Advanced Hands-on Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) training class July 25-28, 2023, in Garner, Iowa.

Targeted at off-the-road tire professionals, the course features a day of classroom instruction and two days of comprehensive hands-on training focusing on installation and safety led by TIA Director of Tire Service Matt White. 

The 200-level Advanced ETS class, which will be held at Stellar Industries in Garner, covers comprehensive hands-on training using a service truck, hydraulic tools and a variety of equipment that can aid technicians in servicing tires. TIA’s goal is to have students leave with comprehensive knowledge that can only come from a combination of formal and hands-on learning.

Topics covered include: Service Truck Operation; Preventative Maintenance Training (service truck, crane, compressor, etc.); Site Preparation and Equipment; Hydraulic Tool Operation & Maintenance; Service One-, Three- and Five-Piece (on machine and loose); Wheel & Rim Fastening Systems; and Wheel Inspection.

Students who successfully complete the four-day class and final exam will receive a Certificate of Completion. Course tuition is $595. The tuition does not include hotel or travel.
