TIA Welcomes Training and Certification Coordinator

Bowie, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is pleased to announce the recent hire of Stephen Heaps who has joined the TIA staff as Training and Certification Coordinator. Within this role, Heaps will handle many of the tasks associated with our training program including grading of tests, tracking of certifications, and providing support services to our training clients. 

Heaps comes to TIA most recently from Southern California where he was employed as a warehouse and shipping associate in the plastics industry. Prior to that he worked as shipping and receiving supervisor for the University of Southern Mississippi.

“We are fortunate to have such a diligent and hardworking professional join our staff,” remarked TIA Senior Vice President of Training Kevin Rohlwing. “With the number of technicians participating in our training, having Stephen join our training team will ensure that the level of customer service our members expect will remain at its highest level.”

Stephen recently received his TIA Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Instructor Certification and will be taking the Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) course later this month.

Heaps lives in Annapolis, Maryland and is engaged to be married next year. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, basketball, and playing ultimate Frisbee at the club level. He is also a professional disc golfer and has a love for animals.
