TIA Wins Telly Award for Industrial Tire Service Program

  • Release Date: November 04, 2015

Bowie, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced that the Industrial Tire Service (ITS) Program released earlier this year has won two Telly Awards in the Safety and How-To/Instructional categories. These are TIA’s six and seventh Telly awards since the Earthmover Tire Service (ETS) Program first won for Use of Animation in 2009. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.

With more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and many foreign countries, winning a Telly Award is a prestigious honor. Other 2015 winners included numerous Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations and worldwide media brands. With the wins, TIA joins the ranks of fellow award winners like Bloomberg, CNN, Discovery, Disney, ESPN, Showtime Networks, Coca-Cola, Time Warner and Warner Brothers.

“The ITS Program completes the initial series of educational resources for the industry,” said Glen Nicholson, TIA President. “Now that we have programs for automotive, commercial, earthmover, farm and industrial tire service, our members have access to the most comprehensive and advanced training in the world. Winning seven Telly awards in six years is quite an accomplishment and further solidifies why Tire Safety Starts Here and TIA is the global leader in technician training and certification.”

The ITS Program was developed with the cooperation of Camoplast Solideal, which is now known as Camso. Camso provided technical assistance and the facility for most of the filming.

“This isn’t the first time that we’ve partnered with an industry leader like Camso to create a much-needed technician training program. Besides the obvious importance of having valuable content, TIA takes a lot of pride in the quality of our training videos. Everything from the graphics and music are carefully selected to make the programs watchable and educational. Seven Telly’s in six years is definitely a tribute to our entire production team,” remarked Kevin Rohlwing, TIA Senior Vice President of Training.

ITS is a 200-level basic training program and is available in the traditional video/workbook format and will eventually be available thru TIA’s On-Line University. It addresses the step-by-step procedures and industry guidelines for servicing different types of industrial tires including pneumatic, solid/resilient, press-on and polyurethane fill. Students who successfully complete the hands-on skills demonstration and final exam can receive a TIA Certificate of Completion.
