TIA Inducted David Martin as the New 2018 Board President

(Bowie, MD-11/1/2017) – The Tire Industry Association, a leader in tire safety, inducted David Martin of American Tire Distributors as the new 2018 Board President. David took office on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Annual Membership Meeting and will serve a one-year term.

David Martin is currently the Category Director of Tools and Supply at American Tire Distributors. He’s a veteran of the tire segment of the automotive aftermarket, having served its customers for more than 30 years. His experience includes owning Snap-On Tools and Cornwell Tools dealerships for 16 years. He also provided field service for Coats, Ammco, Robinair, RTI and Accu-turn automotive equipment as an authorized repair facility for the manufactures. He has worked with OE vehicle manufacturers in Detroit, developing “Tire Dealer” programs and teaching best practices from mounting tires to proper balancing procedures in their shops. In September 2012, he was elected to the Tire Industry Association Board of Directors. During his three-year term on the Board of Directors, he served on the Training and Education Committee of TIA from 2012 to September 2013 where he was selected to serve as Chairman for that committee until 2017. David also served on the TIA Strategic Planning and Finance Committee. During his tenure at American Tire Distributors he has developed and implemented ATD’s well known “Tire Repair and Service Seminars” aimed at helping tire dealers become more professional and exclusively use correct procedures, based on recognized and safe industry standards.

In addition, TIA introduced John Evankovich, Director of Tire and Battery Centers, Sam’s Club as vice president and Brian Rigney, president, Dill Air Controls as Secretary. Mike Wolfe, Owner, Southeastern Wholesale Tire, will remain Treasurer.

The Annual Membership Meeting was held from 12:00pm – 12:30pm at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel (1 & 2).
