(Bowie, MD - 10/31/2018) – The Tire Industry Association (TIA), a leader in tire safety and education, inducted John Evankovich of Sam’s Club as the new 2019 Board President. John took office on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Annual Membership Meeting and will serve a one-year term.
John Evankovich is currently Director of Sam’s Club Tire and Battery Centers. He is a 28-year retail veteran who has been focused on the tire industry for the majority of his career. John is a constant student of the industry with a passion for consumer safety and environmental sustainability and his collaborative approach to developing solutions has earned him respect throughout the industry. John started his career in the tire business with Sam’s Club and has progressed through various Operations and Human Resource roles in many areas of the country. His responsibilities encompass all operations for nearly 600 Sam’s Club Tire and Battery Center locations all over the United States. John is also a very active member of the Tire Industry Association and currently serves on the Executive Board as Vice President.
John has earned numerous accolades throughout his career. The most prestigious of these are the 2009 Sam’s Club Achievement in Service Award recognizing outstanding contributions in customer experience, the 2013 Sam’s Club Carpe Diem Award for achievements in the area of consumer and workplace safety, and most recently the 2017 Sam’s Club “Support Team” award for outstanding service to the field organization. John has also achieved a Certificate in Human Resource Employment Practice and Law.
In addition, TIA also introduced Brian Rigney, president, Dill Air Controls as Vice President and Dan Nothdurft, president, Tires, Tires, Tires as Secretary. Mike Wolfe, Owner, Southeastern Wholesale Tire, will remain Treasurer.
