TIA Mourns the Loss of John Wagner, Former Executive of ARA

(Bowie, MD - 4/12/2018) – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) remembers John Wagner, former managing director of the American Retreaders’ Association (ARA) from 1988 to 1991. John passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7. He was 65 years old.

John was born on December 16, 1952 in Brockton, MA to Martha S. Gerry Wagner and the late Edward Joseph Wagner. From 1988-1991, John served as managing director of ARA. Prior to his role, his father also served as managing director for 20 years. John lived in Louisville, KY and was an executive chef at Gumby’s Catering and a member of St. Louis Bertrand Knights of Columbus.

“We are sad to hear of the recent passing of John Wagner,” said Roy Littlefield, TIA executive vice president. “Like his father, John exuded the same passion and dedication for the industry and made a lasting impact on everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed.”

Bruce is survived by his mother, Martha Wagner; son, Chad E. Wagner; former wife and mother of his son, Judy Wagner; siblings, Edward (Carol) Wagner, Robert (Sallie) Wagner, Joseph Wagner, Stephanie Cassidy (Michael), Mary Smith (Steve), Stella Nugent (Lew), Richard (Julie) Wagner and Teresa Wagner (Eric); Close friend, Phyllis Cornwell, and eight nieces and nephews.

John’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive, Louisville, KY 40222 followed by the burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus or to the University of Louisville Hospital.
