BOWIE, Md. – The Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) second week of free Automotive Tire Service (ATS) webinars will focus on the topic of Demounting, Mounting and Inflation. These sessions will take place three times daily from Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28, 2020. Registration for week two is now open at https://www.tireindustry.org/automotive-tire-service-webinars.
TIA is presenting six consecutive weeks of free online video-conference webinars focused on different aspects of tire service training for passenger and light truck tire service technicians each week. The second webinar in the series will target safety guidelines for demounting, mounting and inflating passenger and light truck tires on rims equipped with tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors.
“It will cover the steps technicians need to take in order to protect the beads and sensors from damage during the demount/mount process as well as the procedures that technicians should follow to protect themselves during the inflation process,” said TIA Senior Vice President of Training Kevin Rohlwing.
The 30-minute webinars will take place three times each day at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. (all times EDT). A TIA staff instructor will be available for additional questions after class. The first topic, covered during the week of May 18, is Vehicle Lifting. Interested techs still have time to register for that class.
The remainder of the ATS training webinars are as follows:
Week 3 (June 2-4) – Balance
Week 4 (June 9-11) – Wheel Torque
Week 5 (June 16-18) – Tire Repair
Week 6 (June 23-25) – TPMS Service
Technicians can attend as many or as few webinars as they would like at no charge. More information and registration instructions can be found at www.tireindustry.org/automotive-tire-service-webinars. For questions, contact training@tireindustry.org.
