The Tire Industry Association has learned of the passing of former TBC Corp. President, CEO and Chairman Larry Day. In a memo to company associates Feb. 9, Erik R. Olsen, current TBC president and CEO, shared the loss, calling Day “a true leader and a person who had the ability to inspire all of us.” He was kind, knowledgeable, hardworking, supportive and generous, and even in retirement continued to serve as a mentor to many TBC associates, Olsen said. Day joined TBC in 1998 and retired as chairman in 2014.
“All of us at TIA are saddened by the loss of Larry Day, who led TBC ably and with much success during his tenure and was a strong supporter of the tire industry, tire dealers and TIA,” said TIA CEO Roy Littlefield. “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family and his friends and associates in the industry.”
