TIA/MOHR Retail Add Leadership Training for Managers of Multi-Store Tire Operations

  • Release Date: December 13, 2021

BOWIE, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and MOHR Retail have announced the addition of a third leadership training class based on their popular retail and commercial tire store leadership programs, this one targeted at managers of multi-location tire operations.

The Virtual Retail Multiunit Management (vRMM) class addresses the leadership behaviors district managers and regional leaders need to build a culture that prioritizes trust, resilience, inclusivity and safety. Grounded in national retail research, the class will include fresh insights and critical success attributes from major retailers at the forefront of navigating an environment of change and uncertainty. Class sessions will cover: Role of the Leader; Developing Your Leadership; Motivating Managers with Below-Standard Performance; Coaching Coaches; and Maximizing Store Visits.

“With consolidation taking place in the tire industry, a class offering leadership training for managers of multi-unit retail locations was needed,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA’s senior vice president of training. “We are excited to add this program for our members and the industry at large.”

TIA and MOHR will offer two vRMM classes in 2022. The first session will take place from March 23 - April 20, with classes held every Wednesday over the five weeks. The second class is scheduled for Oct. 11 - Nov. 8, with the five classes held on Tuesdays. All class sessions will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST.

The cost is $950 per student, including virtual facilitation, a Disc® assessment and 90-day post-training microlearning.

Glen Nicholson, a former automotive service technician, tire store manager and district manager and past senior director of retail training for TBC Corp., will teach the course.
