TIA Unveils Lineup of Educational Sessions and Speakers for 2024 OTR Tire Conference

BOWIE, Md. – In an exciting announcement, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) is set to deliver a cutting-edge experience at the highly anticipated 2024 Off-the-Road Tire Conference, taking place Feb. 21-24, 2024, at the Red Rock Casino & Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

Showcasing its commitment to advancing industry knowledge, TIA is proud to present an agenda that features not only nine general educational sessions but also a compelling keynote and engaging breakout sessions.

The educational portion of the conference will focus on training, industry economic forecasts, professional development, and government affairs. In addition, there will be a live video OTR Tire Service demo presentation.

TIA CEO Richard "Dick" Gust expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, stating, “We look forward to uniting the global off-the-road tire community for the 69th annual OTR Tire Conference in Las Vegas. With strong pre-show registrations, sold out sponsorships, and a lineup of compelling educational sessions, this year's conference is set to be outstanding.

Wednesday, February 21, 2024 — Maximizing Growth Through Training

  • “Legislation Impacting the OTR Tire Industry,” presented by Roy Littlefield IV, TIA Vice President of Government Affairs, will explore bipartisan legislative opportunities in the 118th Congress for the OTR tire industry, and give a crucial update on federal and state activities shaping the industry's future amid the upcoming election.
  • “Tire Chain Selection and Maintenance,” presented by Al Atkinson, North America Product Manager TPC Division of Pewag Chain Inc.; Fatih Sedele, CEO of Las Zirh Tire Chains; and Brian Cohn, President of OTRUSA.com. Tire chains can be effective at lowering operating costs when they are properly selected, installed, and maintained. This panel of tire chain experts will discuss the process of selecting the correct chains and how regular maintenance is necessary to ensure they can perform without causing excessive damage to the tire.
  • “Live OTR Tire Service Demonstration,” presented by Matt White, TIA Director of Off-Road Tire Service. This live demonstration of OTR tire and wheel service will take the attendees into the field where they can see what it takes to service the largest assemblies on earth.
  • “OTR Tire Service Accident Analysis,” presented by Jeff Faubion, Compliance Specialist of Bridgestone Americas Inc.; Roy Galyer, Training Manager of KLNGE; and Russ Devens, Director- Safety & Risk Management of McCarthy Tire Service. Industry safety experts analyze recent tire service incidents, addressing common mistakes to enhance safety practices and prevent injuries and fatalities.

Thursday, February 22, 2024 — Maximizing Growth Through Industry Insight

  • “The Current and Future Outlook for Off-the-Road Tires,” presented by Ciaran Little, VP, Americas & Asia Pacific Information Division, Smithers. Navigate the OTR tire industry's future with insights on regional markets, North American applications, key trends, manufacturing competitiveness, and the impact of sustainability. Explore upcoming opportunities and challenges shaping the industry's trajectory.
  • “Everything You Need to Know About OTR Retreading,” will be lead by Moderator David Stevens, Managing Director of the Tire Retread Information Bureau, and presented by Michael Berra, President of Community Tire Retreading; Rusty Hatten, Operations/Sales of H&H Industries; Darryl Moore, Director, Remanufacturing and Sustainability of Kal Tire; and James John, President of Shrader Retreading- A Division of Craft Tire Inc. Join leading experts on a virtual tour of OTR retreading processes and equipment, offering a firsthand look at the equipment required for retreading the largest tires on the planet.

Friday, February 23, 2024 - Maximizing Growth Through Professional Development

The session will go in-depth on how intelligent products, integrated technologies, and best-in-class service are key in achieving a sustainable and safe tire ecosystem. It will highlight its latest product offerings, solutions, and technologies and how its suite of solutions helps prevent downtime, improve safety, and maximize productivity.

The OTR Tire Conference is the premier gathering for professionals in the global earthmover tire, retreading, and service industries. In addition to the educational sessions, the conference includes multiple networking and business meeting opportunities, tabletop exhibits and a leisure program that includes a Golf Tournament, a Red Rock National Park Trekker Tour, and a Bowling Tournament.
